Thank
you to everyone who donated items for the rummage sale and a special thanks to
everyone who stopped by! We made $314!!! That will go a long way to help the
dogs at the shelter, especially through the Winter months when donations tend to
drop off. We will have another rummage sale in March, on Hwy 87 in the parking
lot of Deptawa’s hardware store. Date to be announced at a later time.
A special thank you to Andrea Best and Deana Phillips for all their effort and hard work pulling off our 2nd Annual Puttin' for Paws event which was held October 24th 2009 at the Woodlake Golf Club. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported us. It was a huge success, we raised $3,500! Everyone had a good time and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
A
special thank you goes out to Roxane & Marty Cook for the fundraiser they
held Saturday, September 19th at their home. Their Lucky Luau Casino
Night brought in much needed funds for Las Lomas K9 Rescue & Adoption. Their
generosity and kindness are so appreciated, so is the generosity of their guests
who donated to our foundation. Thank you Roxane & Marty! It is because of
people like you, there is hope for the world we live in.
As you may know, we are no longer doing business with County Line Animal Hospital in Adkins TX. Unfortunately, we are also unable to recommend them due to recent problems we have had with them ever since Dr. Kosub and Dr. Bowman left. We don't feel comfortable recommending a vet to you that we wouldn't use ourselves. We wouldn't recommend them for boarding either. The dogs are our number priority, and we need a vet who feels the same way. At County Line Animal Hospital, this isn't the case anymore. When Dr. Kosub and Dr. Bowman left, everything went down hill fast. We are happy so say though, that we have Dr. Kosub back!! We
would like to say thank you to the veterinarians and clinics who have been so
supportive and have helped us through the many emergencies we encounter.
We truly appreciate the support and ongoing help we receive in dire situations
as well as the generosity and willingness of them to offer us high quality vet
care at affordable prices so that we can continue saving lives! Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Brumlow who we know we can count on 24/7!! It doesn't matter when we need them, day or night, they have never turned us away! And they have never charged us high prices just because we had an emergency in the middle of the night! We love you both! VCA
Mission Animal Hospital - Dr. Everett Harcrow who so graciously and generously
agreed to work with us when he inherited Dr. James Kosub and we decided we wanted/needed to
follow him over there so we could continue providing our animals with the high
quality vet care they came to know and love with Dr. Kosub and Dr. Bowman.
They are the best! Thank you so much Dr. Harcrow! Thank you Dr. Kosub for everything you have done
for us the past 15 years! We look forward to having you another 15 plus
years! Also, thank you to Dr. Proctor in Universal City for helping us out as well!! He has gotten us through some really scary situations and has done some amazing things to save our dogs and get them cured from diseases we thought were impossible to cure! And
to everyone reading this, who misses Dr. Bowman and Dr. Kosub, and would
like to look them up one day, here’s where to find them!!! Dr.
Kosub Dr. Bowman VCA

Very special thank you to Thomas Shank for donating a brand new Dell Computer, fully loaded and ready to go with all the software installed!! Thank you to HEB who generously donates dog food to us on a monthly basis! The PEDIGREE Foundation: PEDIGREE believes that every dog deserves a loving home. That's why, in 2008, they established The PEDIGREE Foundation, a private 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing grants to animal shelters and breed rescue through consumer donations and receives contributions from PEDIGREE Brand through the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive, a campaign that inspires people to adopt dogs while raising money for every PEDIGREE branded product sold. Las Lomas K9 Rescue & Adoption Foundation is a recipient of these grants! Thank you PEDIGREE Foundation! Thank you to Petfinder, "Power to the Paws" for the Honda Generator EM-5000SX they donated to us! This will be a great asset to our shelter when we lose our power and our water as a result! We are very excited to have this backup system in place so we never have to worry about being without water or electricity! What a blessing this was!
"Dogs Welcome" A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote: I would very much like to bring my dog with me.
An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote: "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all
that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures
off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for
being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill.
Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel.
