ALBERT

ADOPTED!

ALBERT - Heeler Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  16 March 2008

Albert was found on I-10 near Foster Road by a very kind, brave, and caring lady named Christine.  She saw the Mom (a Blue Heeler) half way across a very busy I-10 and the puppy was in the middle of the road!  Christine had to dodge traffic to grab him and take him to safety.  Unfortunately, the Mom kept going and she was never able to find her.  Thank God she was able to save Albert, he is just a baby!  Christine is sad she can’t keep Albert but wants to make sure he finds a special home.  Albert is a sweet little guy looking for a second chance at life.  More information to follow after his vet check!

SHANE

ADOPTED!

SHANE – Doberman

Estimated Date of Birth: 24 April 2005

Shane is a handsome, purebred Doberman about 3 years old.  He is gentle, friendly, good with other dogs, great with kids, and well behaved.  He doesn’t even mind the neighbors cats when they come in the back yard.  Shane loves going to the dog park and socializing with the other dogs.  He would love a home with someone who has more time to spend with him.

MARIGOLD

MARIGOLD – Pit Bull

Estimated Date of Birth:  16 November 2006

Marigold is a precious female pit bull.  She has a friendly, darling disposition and is very hungry for love and affection.

She is good with dogs and people, though I do not know if she has ever met a child.  She needs secure fenced yard, because she is also a bit precocious and can climb low fences. She is housetrained.

Marigold is current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention and will be spayed prior to placement.

SHEBA

SHEBA - Shepherd Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  16 April 2006

Sheba has a sweet face to match her sweet personality.  She loves everyone (dogs and people) and could probably learn to live with cats.

She is not really interested in fetching but loves playing with the other dogs.  She has a hip injury from being dumped as a puppy- one rear leg is shorter than the other so, she occasionally carries it.

She is house trained and crate trained.  She loves having her neck scratched.  Sheba is just a wonderful dog and anyone would be lucky to have her.

CHARLEY

CHARLEY - Border Collie/Lab Mix -  Neutered

Estimated Date of Birth:  17 October 2005

Charlie is a black dog that is just an angel.  He can be a little bossy to the other dogs but loves to play with them.  He plays fetch and can sit.  He is good on a leash but not been walked much.  He's a very gentle dog.

Charlie is house trained, crate trained, and also does well with cats.  He might be a good agility dog, as he is very fast. He is extremely smart and a quick learner.

Charley is very loyal, loving, and a joy to be around.  He’s just perfect.

VIOLET

Violet - Heeler/Australian Shepherd/Lab Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  9 November 2006

Violet (AKA Sweetheart) loves her crate!!  She loves all her doggy friends and would enjoy having another dog companion in her new home.

She is sweet but submissive and shy at first until she is comfortable.  She has a weird scar on her neck, so she may have been burned or something.  She is a very gentle and loving dog.  She is not rambunctious at all.  She would make a great dog for somebody.

DAPPER DAN

DAPPER DAN - Heeler Mix - Neutered

Estimated Date of Birth:  9 December 2005

Danny loves to play with people and will fetch.  He also likes to boss his doggy sister around and play rough.

He gets along with other dogs but would be best paired with a less dominant dog.  He likes being on the higher end of the pecking order.

Danny knows basic commands and is a sweet, friendly boy.  He is crate trained but not house trained.  He is very smart, though, and would pick it up quickly if given the opportunity.

PENNI

PENNI - Shepherd/Lab Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  22 January 2006

Penni is a great dog who was found at an apartment complex in San Antonio with Codi.  After 2 months of searching for owners, no luck was found.  It's hard to imagine why anyone would have abandoned Penni, she is a wonderful companion!  She is good with other dogs, great with children, and house trained.  She is really sweet dog and would make a great friend for you!  She loves to curl up on the couch and watch tv or just hang out in the house with you.  She really enjoys people and is a very loveable dog!

CODI

CODI - Shepherd/Rott Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  22 January 2005

Codi is a great dog who was found at an apartment complex in San Antonio with Penni.  After 2 months of searching for owners, no luck was found.  Codi is awesome and it's hard to imagine why anyone wouldn't want her.  She is good with other dogs, great with children, and house trained.  She is a sweet dog!  Codi was heartworm positive when she came to us but she has been treated and has a clean bill of health!  Now all she needs is a home where she will be loved as much as she will love you!

SOPHIE

ADOPTION PENDING!

SOPHIE - BLACK LAB - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  1 December 2006

SUPER SOPHIE.  My foster parents say I am wonderful wonderful wonderful!  I am great with other dogs, kids of all ages, and even cats.  I don't even mind those silly cats rubbing up against me.

My foster mom says I am housetrained but yummy food on the countertops is still a little more temptation than I can ignore.  "What?" I say, "I thought it was all for me!"  Mom says "we're working on it," whatever that means.

I'm just an overall lovable Lab personality -- you know, that bubbly, fun, friendly kinda girl.  I would like a home with a fenced yard.  Some occasional outings would be super.  I like meeting new people and doing things.

ELSA

ELSA - Cattle Dog Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  13 January 2005

Elsa is a ham! Well, she’s really a dog, but she knows how to ham it up.

When this dog came into our home, I knew she was special. After she and her littermates were abandoned, she found us to help, and she, along with sister Scraps, have been with us ever since. Foster care, though, ain’t no picnic.  Elsa doesn’t get the attention she needs.  She loves us anyway and knows how to give “hugs.”  Because her favorite thing to do (beside hug) is to explore, she needs a very secure fence.

She also knows lots of words:  “sit” “down ” “belly” “shake” “kennel up” “cookie” “go inside” “go outside”

SCRAPS

SCRAPS - Cattle Dog Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  13 January 2005

Now really, how can you resist this face?

It will take a special person to adopt Scraps. Someone willing to take a little time to get to know her first, someone who can have an inside/outside dog, someone who likes to go for walks, someone who loves doggie kisses. Scraps is submissive and shy even though she lives with five other dogs, three cats, and two humans in a foster home. Foster homes are okay for a short time, but in foster care Scraps doesn’t get the special attention she deserves. Scraps doesn’t know many children, but she doesn’t rule them out entirely. She’s in training to be better behaved and socialized. She’s learned how to walk on a leash. And she knows lots of words:  “sit” “down ” “belly” “shake” “kennel up” “cookie” “go inside” “go outside”. And she is crate-trained!!

BRIANA

BRIANA – German Shepherd Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  10 October 2005

SPECIAL NEEDS.  Briana came to the shelter as a puppy with her siblings, many of whom still reside at the shelter.  This litter was really sick when they came to the shelter and it took months to get them healthy and ready to go to their new homes.  By this time, they had not been socialized or exposed beyond their "sheltered" life.  While several of Briana’s siblings are shy, but curious about meeting new people, Briana is exceptionally shy and unsure.

She loves and trusts her caretaker, but she has "special needs" that she will require a special home with a patient adult(s) willing to work with her and slowly expose her to new things.  She is shy by nature and not used to all the activity and stimulus of the big, outside world she has never known.

Briana relies on and seeks comfort in her sister and roommate, Krystal.  Briana is a beautiful girl whose father is a purebred German Shepherd.  She is good with other dogs but has never been around cats or children.

Briana will prefer a quieter type of household without a lot of traffic, and a small circle of friends.  She needs a home with someone experienced with dog behavior who understands, accepts, and honors her limitations.  A patient person with a soft tone and touch, who doesn't expect a lot out of her, but wants an easy companion to hang out with at home, will be the best match for bringing out all Briana can offer.  She would probably be easy to crate train and find comfort in a crate as being her safe place.  No children for Briana.

STANLEY

STANLEY - Lab Mix - Neutered

Estimated Date of Birth:  25 January 2007

I am Stanley and I was born at the vet clinic with my siblings after our Mom (Pumpkin) was dumped there before giving birth.  I have had a rough life, I am a parvo survivor though and very thankful to the shelter for saving my life!   Prior to coming to the shelter, I didn't have any contact with humans.  All I know is my caregiver, so I am a little shy when I first meet you.  I really depend on my brother, Indigo, to help lead the way for me.  We love to play together and get along really well with each other.

If you are willing to work me with, and help me overcome my shyness, I could be a great friend to you.

ANGEL

ANGEL – Cattle Dog Mix Female - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  27 November 2003

I am Angel, a predominately black heeler mix female who is friendly, energetic, and playful.  I get along great with other dogs and love to play but I do tend to take their food so need to be fed separately.  I currently board with Mr. Tetco, who I adore, but my caretaker sits in our room between us while we eat; otherwise, Mr. Tetco would go hungry.  I am  wonderful with kids although I haven't been around them since coming to the shelter.  I am very smart and a fast learner.  I am highly intelligent; I was paper trained in just 2 days!  I am the type of dog who bonds really fast to my human companions and will follow you anywhere for attention.  I am extremely sweet and love to give kisses.  I grew up around cats and livestock but have probably forgotten what that was all about so I would need a home with no other animals, besides dogs that is!

BLACKIE

BLACKIE - Black Lab Mix - Neutered

Estimated Date of Birth:  25 October 2006

Starved and Abused OK Rescue Puppy Seeks Loving Forever Home!

This sweet puppy came to us all the way from Oklahoma!

Blackie and his brother Brownie were rescued from an abusive home in Oklahoma.  Their “owners” used to starve, neglect, and abuse the dogs. For entertainment, they would throw small scraps of meat between the dogs and make them fight for it!

Once in animal control, they were well fed and stopped fighting over food.  Brownie was taken in by an OK rescue group leaving Blackie all alone.  He screamed for his brother when they took him away. No one wanted Blackie because he is a black dog, which are the last dogs to be rescued or adopted from shelters.  Blackie stayed at the shelter while his rescuer tried and tried to find a rescue to take him.  She begged to have his kill date delayed, time and time again. Finally, we were able to arrange transport from Oklahoma to Texas!

Despite the abuse Blackie has suffered at the hands of humans, he is the most loving, affectionate dog you will meet!  He is so starved for attention, it is almost as if he is trying to make up for all the love he missed out on in his first year of his life.  He does tend to bounce and jump up to get your attention – can you blame him?? He is probably scared to death that he will be tossed out and forgotten and starved again.

Understandably, Blackie does have some issues with other dogs, especially around food.  He is young enough that he could be worked with to resolve this.  He is house trained though!

LEO

LEO - Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Mix - Neutered

Estimated Date of Birth:  19 December 2001

Hi, my name is Leo and I am a unique dog.  I do extremely well with cats but not so well with other dogs!!  I am choosy about my friends and do enjoy playing with others at times but I normally prefer to be left alone.  I have been completely house trained and will stay inside all day without chewing on a thing I shouldn't be chewing on!  I love to go for walks on the beach, hiking in the parks, and just plain out lounging around.  I am  great in the car and have had some basic obedience training.  I am very food aggressive though, with both animals and humans. As long as you don't come near my food when I am eating, I am fine, but if you stick your hands in my food bowl, or try to pet me while I am eating, I will definitely ask you to back off!

I need an experienced dog handler who understands mood swings and is willing to learn my ways and give me a chance in life.  I can be very sweet and I love to give hugs and kisses, but on my terms only.  I can be quite moody but would be a great friend to someone willing to help me.  I would also make a great guard dog.

Barney seeks comfort and looks after his brother, Mickey Boo. Barney is a sweet-faced boy whose father is a purebred German Shepherd.  He is good with other dogs and could probably learn to live with cats.

KAILANI

KAILANI - German Shepherd Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  10 October 2005

CUTE KAILANI!  Kailani came to the shelter as a puppy with her littermates.  Her Dad is a purebred GSD.  She is a little timid meeting new people but attentive, curious, and eager to join in the fun.

Kailani is a playful dog who enjoys the company of her shelter roommate, Kaitlin.  She has grown up around other dogs, but since she has grown up in the shelter, she hasn't had the opportunity to explore all the things the big, outside world has to offer.  Thus, she will require a home willing to work with her and slowly show her the ropes of learning new things, home manners, training, and socializing.

As you can see from her photo, her doghouse is her safe place when meeting new people, but she is right there wanting some attention.  Because she hasn't been around kids and is still a youngster at heart, she will be best in an adults only home with kind-natured people who have time to spend with her and fine-tune all the best she has to offer!

Please consider giving this cutie a chance!

LITTLE ANGEL

LITTLE ANGEL – German Shepherd/Yellow Lab Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  12 October 2005

ANGEL SMILES 4 U.  Angel is a very sweet, pretty golden/red coated girl.  She was a little shy not having been exposed to much outside of her shelter upbringing, but she has warmed up quickly and has a nice, easy-going, friendly temperament.

She really seems to love her sister and roommate, Hailey, and would enjoy a home with another doggy companion.  Angel is a darling girl just waiting for that kind-hearted person to come along and make her a part of a home and family.  She has not grown up around kids, so we recommend only homes with older, dog-friendly kids.  She may be okay with cats, but again, we've only seen her around other dogs, which she loves. :)

Angel is ready to learn about living life as a family, house-pet, and in return, you will have a sweet Angel to watch over you.

HAILEY

HAILEY – German Shepherd/Yellow Lab Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  12 October 2005

HAILEY has such a cute face with her expressive eyes and wrinkled brow.  She is really a beauty with her regal red, sleek coat too.  Her dad is a purebred German Shepherd.  Hailey enjoys spending time with her sister and roommate, Angel.  She's pretty calm natured, and they like laying close together and watching the birds fly by.

As comfortable as lounging around on the doghouse is, Hailey would really like to have a chance at becoming an integral family member in a real house and home.  She is a little timid not having been exposed to much outside of her shelter upbringing, but she warms up quickly and has a friendly temperament.  She would probably enjoy a home where she could have another doggy friend too.

Since Hailey hasn't been around kids, we prefer a home with no kids or older dog-savvy kids.  Miss Hailey is still waiting for that easy-going, kind-hearted person(s) to come along and take the time to make her a part of a home and family.  She might be a good watch dog in return for you too!

DAISY & BAILEY

DAISY & BAILEY – Lab Mixes – Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  1 June 2005

Hello, we are Daisy & Bailey and are identical twins!  It's pretty hard to tell us apart until you get to know us.  We are really sweet and loving and will be great dogs for kids or anyone who is willing to love us back!

The family who owned the property where we were dumped in the country was kind enough to take us in and care for us until we were old enough to start wandering off.  Unfortunately, they didn't have a fence to keep us safe at home so that's when they asked the shelter to take us in.

We are both nice, laid back, and easy to please, all we want is a little love and TLC!

HOLLEY

SPONSORED BY ALICE & JIM JACKSON

OF SPICEWOOD TX!!

HOLLEY – Pit Mix – Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  7 August 2004

HOLLEY SWEETNESS!  Sweet, submissive, friendly seeks same.  Holley is a kind-hearted, waggy girl who gets along great with other dogs and people.

She is looking for a loving family to call her own.  She can climb over a 5 foot fence though, so she needs a good secure and tall fence!  She may enjoy the companionship of another easy going dog.

Holley had some skin issues when she came and spent some time at the vet's office who reported that she was never aggressive or food sensitive, just sweet, sweet, sweet and good with everyone, kids included.

The vet found no reason for the skin problems, and they did clear up, but it may be that her skin is sensitive to the sun or allergy prone.

TWINKIE

TWINKIE - Plott Hound/Lab Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  22 May 2004

Hi!  I am Twinkie.  I was adopted as a puppy and returned a year later when I grew bigger than my owners anticipated.  Nobody really knows what breed I am but I am a beautiful brindle and have a soft, shiny coat.

I get along well with other dogs but still have a lot of puppy in me.  I love to lay on the floor and have my belly rubbed!  I love people but am very protective of my domain and will alert when strangers approach.

No kids under 10 for Twinkie and no cats.

 BUNNY BOB

BUNNY BOB – Shepherd Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  10 October 2005

FUNNY BUNNY BOB!  Bunny Bob came to the shelter as a puppy with his siblings, many of whom still reside at the shelter.  They've not been socialized or exposed beyond their "sheltered" life.  Bunny Bob is quite shy.  He is funny in that he is curious and very vocal about calling out for attention, but then clams up and acts very shy when visitors approach. Bunny Bob loves being sprayed with the water hose to cool off.

Bunny Bob's photos don't do him justice.  He is a very handsome boy - very stately, large, and fluffy!  He looks like he may have some large herding dog, like Pyrenees or Anatolian or the like in him.  He's a bit of a black and tan mystery mix, but his father was a purebred German Shepherd Dog.

Bob loves and trusts his caretaker, but he has "special needs" in that he will require a home with a patient adult(s) willing to work with him and slowly expose him to new things.  He is unsure and not used to all the activity and stimulus of the big, outside world he has never known.

He gets along with the other dogs at the shelter, but we do not know how he would do with cats.  He has not been around children and is too shy and unsure to go to a home with kids at this time.

Bunny Bob is kind of easy going, yet he has a bouncy, let's have some fun, side too.  He does like to alert when something is new or "out there," so he should make a good watch dog.

Bunny would probably come out of his shell once comfortable in his new environment and with the people he knows.  It might help to build his confidence if someone is willing to spend time slowly socializing him and exposing him to the big, outside world he has never known.  But, he should be placed in a home that is experienced with dog behavior and understands his current needs and limitations, because he is rather uncertain about new things and people at this time.

Bunny Bob would probably be easy to crate train and find comfort in a crate as being his safe place.  NO CHILDREN for Mr. Bunny Bob.

PUMPKIN

PUMPKIN – Doberman/Beagle Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  25 March 2006

Pumpkin is such a pretty girl with her deep, rich, tri-colored coat and beautiful round, expressive "Beagle" looking eyes.  We think Pumpkin is a Doberman mixed possibly with some type of hound.  Pumpkin is a quiet, mostly laid back kind of dog.

Pumpkin and her sister, Peanut, were turned into the vet's office to be euthanized when they were just youngsters because they had gotten pregnant when their owners did not spay them nor want them anymore.

No telling what their life was like back then, but it must not have been "all that," and Pumpkin doesn't like to talk about it!  Pumpkin is very shy and nervous about new things and people.

Pumpkin is very sweet and trusting with her caretaker, but she retreats to the safety of her dog house when visitors approach.  This pretty girl would like to have a loving, forever home with a family of her own, something she's never had.  But, she likes a small circle of friends and will need a quiet, low-traffic, adults-only home.  A special, patient, kind-hearted person(s) willing to go slow and provide encouragement to build her self-esteem, confidence, and trust will bring out the best in Pumpkin.

Pumpkin should be easy to crate-train and will likely find comfort in her crate as being her safe place.

PEANUT

PEANUT – Doberman/Beagle Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  25 March 2006

Peanut is a pretty black and tan Doberman mix who enjoys spending time with her sister, Pumpkin, and talking in her special way with her people friends.  Peanut is a quiet, mostly laid back kind of dog.

Peanut and her sister, Pumpkin, were turned into the vet's office to be euthanized when they were just youngsters because they had gotten pregnant when their owners did not spay them nor want them anymore.

No telling what their life was like back then, but it must not have been "all that," as they don't like to talk about it!  Peanut is very sweet and trusting with her caretaker, but quite shy about new things and people.

Peanut is a sweet dog who would like to have a real loving, forever home with a family of her own, something she's never had.  But, she likes a small circle of friends and will need a quiet, low-traffic, adults-only home.  A patient, kind-hearted person(s) willing to go slow and provide encouragement to build her self-esteem, confidence, and trust will bring out the best in Peanut.

BLACK JACK

BLACK JACK – Lab Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  7 April 2006

BLACK JACK is a high roller with a zest and gusto for life and adventure that will keep you on your toes.  He's a very athletic boy and would make a great jogging pawtner if you can keep up with him.  He'd probably be a fun lake dog too.

BJ pretty much loves anyone and anything.  He gets along great with other dogs and would love to have a playful dog friend in his new home.

He's never seen a cat, but may love cats a little too much for the likes of most felines.  He has been around young kids and is no threat except that he is a big, eager goofball and could be overwhelming to them.

To date, he has only been an outdoor-only dog which seems to suit him fine as long as he gets plenty of exercise and the people attention he craves.  He is still a puppy at heart with a heart of gold.

CHANCE

ADOPTED!

CHANCE – Westie Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  20 March 2003

This little man is a darling, short-legged, little Westie mix who only stands 8" (shoulder height) tall.  He has really smooth soft hair.  He is really a lover and will moan with appreciation of a hug and kiss.  A former street kid, now on the other side of the tracks, he's taking advantage of all the good lovin' and care he can get!

He plays well with others and likes to explore new places, but stays close to home.  He could be comfortable in a Manhattan apartment or on the King Ranch.  Mostly, he is not concerned with geography, a warm lap will do.

Chance is a Terrier in nature with his energetic, busy personality.  He is not yet housebroken, but working on crate-training although he's not too fond of the concept.  A little time will go along way with this little man that is all soul!

MISSY

MISSY – Shepherd Mix

Estimated Date of Birth:  14 February 2006

Our little Missy is not very prissy.  She enjoys a nice walk or a jog, but would sleep on your couch like a log.  Missy has been great with children of all sizes and loves a good treat.

Missy likes other dogs, but she is sensitive about her food and doesn't care to share even a nibble of kibble.

Missy is a sweet and affectionate dog who was found tied to a dumpster in Sutherland Springs.  She had a note attached around her neck that said "please help me, I'm hungry and need a home!"

Luckily someone found Missy, so she could be fed!  Now, she just needs a loving, forever home!

DIAMOND & PEPPER

DIAMOND & PEPPER – Black Lab Mixes - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth: 10 July 2001

Hi, my name is Diamond.  I am energetic and have a very sweet personality.  My beautiful black coat shines in the sun just like a Diamond!  I love to play with my sister Pepper.  I enjoy the water and ride well in the car.  My tail goes a mile a minute when I see our shelter manager come home and I love greeting visitors.  I enjoy the outdoors on nice days.

My sister Pepper is a carbon copy of me.  We are not aggressive by any means.  We are loving and fun dogs who also happen to be sisters who really enjoy each others company and are looking for a home where we can stay together.  You see, all of our siblings were adopted when we were just 6 weeks old and my sister and I have been together ever since so we have become inseparable.

We have lots of love to offer to anyone willing to make us part of their family!

STACY

 DAYTONA

STACY & DAYTONA – Doberman Mixes – Spayed & Neutered

Estimated Date of Birth:  6 February 2007

Stacy and Daytona were adopted out as out as young puppies and then returned a year later when their owners had to move away.

Both are fairly quiet, laid back dogs for still being such youngsters.  Stacy is very fond of her brother and follows his lead.  They are very close and would prefer to stay together.

Stacy and Daytona are house-trained and miss being indoors with their humans, so they need to find a new home where they can continue living inside getting lots of TLC. They are very sweet, well behaved, and happy loving dogs.

SUNSHINE

SUNSHINE – Lab/Spaniel Mix - Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  27 June 2004

Sunshine is a really sweet dog and has lots of love to give.  She is a little shy when she first meets you but it doesn't take long for her to become friends.  She loves being around other dogs and has lots of fun playing and running around the yard.

She isn’t a very big dog but as you can tell she has a great appetite!  She is quiet, laid back, pretty mellow.  She is actually a sister to Ebony but she doesn’t have her underbite!

Sunshine would make a great house companion for someone with a quieter life style!

KAITLAN

KAITLAN – Lab Mix – Spayed

Estimated Date of Birth:  29 August 2005

Kaitlin is a very sweet dog who was thrown out with the trash on Loop 1604 near Floresville, Texas.  She was seen sitting in the same place for 3 days waiting on that horrible person who dumped her to come back for her.  She was a little nervous when we first picked her up but now she is very happy and thankful for food, water, and any attention we can give her.  She is a medium size dog with a huge heart!!

Kaitlan gets along well with the dogs at the shelter.  She hasn’t been around kids or cats so we don’t know how she would respond to them.  She is gentle, and easy going though!

BEAU

BEAU – Border Collie/Aussie Mix - Neutered

Estimated Date of Birth:  16 December 2004

Beau is a handsome red and white Border Collie who was abandoned on a country road.  Beau is good with other dogs.  He is attentive to people and has a pleasant, friendly personality.  He likes to give hugs and kisses.  Beau is currently living in an outdoor shelter/kennel environment, so we do not know if he is housetrained.

He is an active, intelligent boy, typical of the breed, and will require a home that is able to provide him with adequate exercise and mental stimulation. Please read more about Border Collies: http://www.bcrescuetexas.org/aboutbc.htm
